The 4th edition of the Sommer Akademy will offer students, professional dancers, young makers and dance enthusiasts the opportunity to work with international teachers and artists creating and delivering work across Europe and beyond today. 
Workshops will focus on contemporary dance technique, movement and analytical research, choreographic structures and performance skills. Workshops will be offered between 16 – 28 July (Monday – Saturday) from 10:00 – 18:00 each day. Participants will experience working with 2 different artists where they will be working intensively for the period of 3 days. The schedule offers participants chance to work with 10 different international artists during the two weeks festival. 
Candidates can choose between two groups classified as “soft” and “intensive” which reflects the dance experience of participants and the rhythm in which information will be shared and delivered during workshops. 
The festival offers a range of passes to suit the needs of our participants. You can either buy a 3 day, 1 week or 2 weeks pass. Tickets allow participants to work with all artists involved in the programme based on the period of engagement. Each pass will also provide participants the opportunity to engage in other activities offered during the festival such as attending performances, discussions and informal sharing.

Group Definition - “Soft”
Suitable for participants with 1-3 years’ experience in contemporary dance technique or less and for those aiming to work on approach through a slower pace.

Candidates are invited to participate on all 3 days, working every day for 4 hours with each of the artists involved in the programme.

*Ido Batash (BE/IL)

He is an independent choreographer and a professional dancer based in Belgium. Between 2002-2018, Ido danced and performed for several companies, including: les ballets C de la B -(in C(H)OEURS & nicht schlafen) under the direction of the choreographer Alain Platel, Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak dance Company, NDD-Galili Dance, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and he participated in projects of the choreographers Idan Cohen, Talia Back, Roy Assaf and Meytal Blanaru.
In 2009 Ido has started to create his own independent choreographies. Several of them were performed in UK, Sweden, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Japan and Israel.
In 2012, Ido was invited to take a position as a resident choreographer at Random Collision (NL) - An organization that focuses on contemporary choreography and the development of talented young choreographers and stimulates the exchange between makers and public to expand the awareness of contemporary dance.
In 2014, the work Ego Trip, a collaboration with the choreographer Anna Reti, was nominated for the best work of the year by Rudolf Laban Institute. Same year, Ido received the 2nd prize for the choreography of bodymagic, at the International Choreography Competition of Machol Shalem, in Jerusalem.
Some of Ido͛s works were supported by: Random Collision, Moving Futures Festival,͚DEPARTS͛ program, Trafo House for Contemporary dance, CCNO - National Choreographic Centre of Orléans, MASH - Machol Shalem Dance House in Jerusalem, Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv, Cultuurcentrum De Grote Post - Oostende, The ministry culture of Israel, Mifal Hapais (the Israel State Lottery) and others.
Along his personal artistic activities, Ido initiates independent projects in collaboration with other choreographers, artists and scientists from different disciplines, and he teaches contemporary dance classes and workshops based on his working method, at les ballets C de la B and other dance platforms and universities in Europe.

 * Ady Elzam (BE/IL)

He is a dancer, teacher and choreographer, with a deep technical background in contemporary dance, improvisation and performance. Ady started dancing and performing at age 10 in the Israeli folklore dance school "The Iris of Nazareth". He met modern dance in 1997 and dedicated himself to the art of contemporary dance, improvisation and movement exploration.
Ady trained at the modern dance academy in Haifa and continued to dance in Vertigo Dance Company and DeDe Dance. Over the years he worked with many different choreographers such as; Ofra Idel, Elad Shecter, Matan Levkowich, Yuval Goldshtain, Sharona Floreshaim, Dafi Altabeb, to name a few. Ady Is also a trained practitioner in the Ilan Lev Method and practices Feldenkrais, meditation and yoga regularly.
